The draft of the National Decentralization Strategy has been subject to intense public debates, through consultations with the new team of local public administration. The second round of consultations was held during August 2-19 in 19 cities and brought together hundreds of representatives of the local public authorities from the central, northern and southern districts of the country, representatives of the Government, national and international experts. The main goal of the consultations was to present the content of the draft Strategy, to identify the viewpoint of the local public authorities concerning the problems and solutions proposed in the document, to develop a common vision of the local authorities regarding this document and to formulate recommendations and proposals for its improvement. The synthesis of proposals presented within the public debates will be analysed in order to be inserted in the final document.
